The science of learning

Every technique we built in is backed by research.

Claritii doesn't invent study methods — it automates the ones with the strongest evidence, so the science is on your side every session.

0.00Spaced Repetition

effect size of spaced repetition

Meta-analysis of 13 studies and 21,415 learners: spaced repetition outperforms standard studying (SMD = 0.78).

French, The Clinical Teacher (2026)

0%Efficiency

less review time, same retention

Randomised trial across 6 universities: students using spaced retrieval kept their knowledge with ~66% less review time than daily review.

Blank Slate RCT, Education Sciences (2021)

0.00Active Recall

effect size of retrieval practice

Meta-analysis of 61 studies: testing beats restudying for long-term retention (g = 0.50) — the engine behind our quizzes and blurting.

Rowland, Psychological Bulletin (2014)

0.00Feynman

effect size of self-explanation

Meta-analysis of 64 studies: explaining a concept in your own words boosts learning (g = 0.55) — the core of our Feynman mode.

Bisra et al., Educational Psychology Review (2018)

0.00Interleaving

effect size of interleaving

Cluster randomised trial across 54 classrooms: mixing problem types nearly doubled delayed test scores (61% vs 38%, d = 0.83).

Rohrer et al., Journal of Educational Psychology (2020)

0×Dual Coding

retention with words + visuals

Students who processed information both visually and verbally retained twice as much as verbal-only learners — where our mind maps shine.

Cuevas & Dawson (2018)

Study-context note: these figures come from peer-reviewed studies with thousands of learners; individual results vary. We share them to show why Claritii's methods work.

How it works

From scattered notes to a clear daily plan.

Frequently asked questions

Claritii analyses your subjects, assessments, available study time, and topic mastery to create a personalised daily study plan. It uses a proportional-sampling algorithm that weights sessions by urgency, ensuring subjects with closer deadlines or lower mastery get more time.
Yes. You can upload PDFs, Word documents, images of handwritten notes, PowerPoint files, spreadsheets, and text files. Claritii's AI extracts the content and uses it to generate personalised flashcards, quizzes, and practice papers tailored to your specific materials.
Claritii uses a multi-model AI pipeline via OpenRouter. For most tasks we use DeepSeek V4 Pro — a fast, capable model optimised for education. For complex reasoning we use DeepSeek V4 Flash, for document-heavy tasks we use Mistral Small, and for handwritten notes we use Gemma. The right model is selected automatically based on what you're doing.
Absolutely. Your study materials are stored encrypted in your private Supabase storage bucket. AI requests are processed without persistent storage of your content. We never train on your data, and you can delete your account and all associated data at any time from settings.
Free tier gets 15 AI messages per day, which covers most daily study sessions. If you hit the limit, you'll see a notification and can upgrade to Pro or Max for higher limits. Your data is never locked — you keep access to all previously generated content regardless of your plan.
Yes. Claritii is a Progressive Web App (PWA) that works perfectly on mobile browsers. You can install it on your home screen for a native-like experience with offline access to your roadmap. The interface is fully responsive with sticky navigation and touch-friendly targets.
When you generate flashcards for a subject, Claritii's AI analyses your uploaded materials (notes, textbooks, past papers) and extracts key concepts, definitions, and relationships. It creates question-answer pairs that test your understanding. Each card is then scheduled using spaced repetition for optimal retention — the same technique behind a 2026 meta-analysis of 21,415 learners showing a 0.78 effect size over standard studying.
Mastery is tracked per topic using a Bayesian updating system. Each time you complete a study session, quiz, or flashcard review, your mastery score updates based on your performance. Scores range from 0.0 (not started) to 1.0 (mastered). The system factors in recency, confidence, and performance trends to give an accurate picture of your knowledge.
Yes! Squad lets you add friends, see their recent study activity in a live feed, and compare study time on the weekly, monthly, and yearly leaderboards. Send and receive friend requests, or invite friends by sharing your user ID.
Claritii supports six evidence-based techniques: Blurting (write everything you remember without notes, then compare), Active Recall (structured self-questioning to build neural pathways), the Feynman Technique (explain concepts simply as if teaching a beginner), Mind Mapping (visualise relationships between concepts), Dual Coding (combine words with visuals), and Interleaving (mix related topics to strengthen discrimination). The right technique is recommended automatically for each session — and each one is backed by peer-reviewed research (retrieval practice g = 0.50, self-explanation g = 0.55, interleaving d = 0.83).
