v2.3June 2026·Release notes

Celebrations & Mixed Quizzes

Finishing an assessment’s worth of study should feel like an achievement — so we added full-screen confetti celebrations. Quizzes are getting smarter too, with a new mixed mode that combines multiple-choice and open-ended questions, plus detailed explanations for every wrong answer.

New Features

  • A full-screen celebration with animated confetti triggers the moment you complete the last session for an assessment. It shows the assessment name, your total study time, and a completion summary — because finishing a study plan deserves more than just an empty roadmap.

Improvements

  • Mixed quizzes now combine multiple-choice questions with open-ended blurting prompts in the same session. This mirrors real exam conditions where you’ll face different question types back to back, giving you more authentic practice.
  • When you get a question wrong, the quiz now explains what you chose, what the correct answer is, and — most importantly — why. Each explanation includes a misconception hint that identifies the likely reasoning error behind your choice.
  • The roadmap and dashboard now show clearer progress tracking. You can see exactly how many sessions remain for each assessment and which subjects need the most attention.

Why We Built This

Before v2.3, completing all your sessions for an assessment meant your roadmap simply looked empty. There was no acknowledgment, no moment of satisfaction — just a blank page. Research shows that celebrating milestones, even small ones, dramatically improves motivation and habit formation. So we built a confetti celebration that triggers the moment you finish your last session.

Mixed quizzes came from a different student insight: real exams don’t just have one question type. Your HSC Chemistry paper might start with 20 multiple-choice questions and then move to short-answer questions. Practising with only one question type at a time doesn’t prepare you for the mental context-switching real exams require. Mixed mode helps you build that skill.

The detailed answer explanations address a long-standing request. Previously, getting a question wrong just showed you the correct answer with no explanation. Now each wrong answer comes with a misconception hint that identifies the likely reasoning error behind your choice, helping you fix the root misunderstanding rather than just memorising the right answer.

What’s Next

We’re exploring personalised quiz difficulty that adapts to your performance in real time. Get a question right and the next one gets slightly harder; get two wrong and we dial it back. This keeps you in the optimal learning zone. We’re also adding more celebration types for different milestones like streaks, weekly achievements, and hitting new PRs on the leaderboard.
